Sneak Preview

Sam thinks i need to write more; and i have an idea. This month Stephanie is posting something on Facebook every day that she is thankful for. I haven't checked to see if she has posted something every day, but i will trust that she has. So i thought i'd do something a little similar, but with a twist. I have a lot more friends on Facebook than i do here, and i don't like them nearly as much in general. Each day in December i will post a random lyric on Facebook and i will then post a short blurb here about that song. This way the cretins i am friends with on Facebook can leave inane comments on Facebook while my real friends can read something a little more clever.

The postings will likely be pretty short. They will mostly consist of trivia or something about what that song means to me or why i like it. I am putting a sneak preview up early here, and the first person to leave feedback can make a request. If you are the first poster you can select the song i do next. Anyone who is new to my followers may make a request as well, i have to get my numbers up somehow.

A couple more more things. Jason gets a free request. He sent a nice comment on my birthday post but i have been too busy and lazy to send him anything back or call him. (Not sure i have your number.) This is a small attempt to make it up to him. Also anyone who has been with me to get Diet Pepsi Lime or made a purchase of the same on my behalf may make a free request.

Now on with the preview:

Without a doubt Everlong is one of my favorite songs. It makes it way onto nearly every disc i make to listen to in my car. But did you know it is also David Letterman's favorite song? Mike did because he told me this ten years ago. On his first episode back after his heart surgery Letterman introduced them as "my favorite band, playing my favorite song." During a later Foo Fighters appearance, Letterman said that Foo Fighters had been in the middle of a South American tour which they canceled to come play on his comeback episode. So apparently David Letterman is more important than all of South America. Seems about right to me, even if i am still mad at Dave for being in the tank for obama.
