I Can Literally Make It Rain 'Cause I'm Thor!

Today's song: Thor!  Usher "More" Parody, by Screen Team.

Screen Team has put out quite a few song parodies that superheroes or video game properties.  You know, typical nerd stuff.  I recommend checking out their Youtube channel if you like such things.  If you are into more traditional interests then I still recommend you check it out; Angie's boobs are a spectacular feat of surgical engineering.

Screen team puts out a lot of song parody.  They aren't Weird Al, but let's face it Weird Al isn't even Weird Al anymore so that isn't much of a knock.  Song parody isn't all they  do.  They also cover other topics of interest to nerds.  Angie has a number of cosplay cooking and crafting videos.  They also do some toy reviews.  They also spend a fair amount of time talking about video games.

While all of their songs are pretty well done pieces of parody, Thor is among Screen Teams best efforts.  It helps that they are working with a song with a strong musical accompaniment.  The song has a good beat and is high energy.  Chad does not have a lot of vocal range, nor is he especially proficient, but with a little help from autotune it works here.  For me it is the lyrics that make this song work as a piece of music.  The vocal imagery just works for me.

This is of course a video made as a video.  It is not an independent piece of audio work that is being a visual component to make it more marketable because people don't like to look at bland screens when the listen to songs on TV or the internet. This is something that was made to be watched.  So it ought to be judged primarily as how it works as music video.

The video works even better than the song.  As I mentioned Angie's breasts are outstanding work of artificial enhancement.  But they are not as on display here as in some of the other vids.  So if that is the primary appeal be sure to check out some of their other efforts.  The video works because of the mixing of humor.  There are slapstick moments like Loki being struck with the hammer or Chad smashing things with an actual hammer.  The video also plays off of the larger than life images expected when your subject is a God in a campy way.  If Batman '66 is your thing you'll probably enjoy this video.  The video works on mute and the song works without the images, but the combination of the two makes this one of the best things Screen Team has put out.

I'd be remiss if I didn't also provide a link to Moves Like Batman.  If you are a pervert and like fat Batman, you'll love Chad in costume.  I enjoy the reactions of the bystanders to the costumed antics.  I took me a couple viewings to to actually notice the song is about the Arkham games but that just makes the whole thing better.

That's enough for today.  Hopefully some of you will find something you like.

Later

Bob
