31 for 31

Today's song: Auld Lang Syne by Robert Burns

It is the end of the year and the end of this project.  Thirty-one posts in thirty-one days.

Traditionally i do a year end post.  I will be doing one after the first of the year.  I was going to cheat and announce that this post would be delayed, but where is the fun in that.  Instead i will do a short post and do the year in review on another day.

How a Scots poem became the New Years standby that it is is beyond the scope of this article.  Instead i will mention that i hate New Year's Eve.  It is not a holiday.  An excuse to drink is no excuse at all.  New Year's Eve is a nonevent and it always will be.  But people feel the need to assign meaning to the end of the year, and nothing i say will stop that.

So have fun.  Be safe.  Actually follow your resolutions next year.  And have a happy new year.

Later

Bob
