Cranberries and Lime

Today's song: Linger by The Cranberries

Let's face it, i can be a pretty obnoxious guy.  I've learned to accept that about myself.  So today's lyric on Facebook is a misdirect.  I plan on doing a fair number of misdirects because it is more fun that way.  Facebook is not the place where i bear my soul.  The lyrics are apropos here even if they must be removed from context.

This is a song by The Cranberries.  I like it.  Not a lot more to say than that.  Either you enjoy  The Cranberries or you don't.  It's unlikely that i am going to say anything here that is going to sway you one way or the other.  I've learned to accept that.

It's not there isn't an absolute right or wrong on maters of taste.  There are.  But people stubbornly cling to their opinions regardless of the correctness of those opinions.  There are still some people who don't like Diet Pepsi Lime, they are wrong and are likely to remain wrong for the rest of their miserable, misbegotten, Diet Pepsi Lime-free lives.  Worse still they are likely to pass these wrong opinions down to their children who will then carry on these wrong opinions through no fault of their own.

I have no such problem.  My opinions have perfect truth value.  If i like something it is good; truly good with a capital "T" type Truth.  If i do not like something then it is not good.  I don't accept that there are mere matters of taste.  Nor am i going to defer stating what i believe out of a fear of offending the sensibilities of those who might be wrong.  I don't say such things to be rude, just to give people an opportunity to correct their opinions and bring them in line with the Platonic Forms of good taste.

So to sum up:
The Cranberries are good.
Diet Pepsi Lime is the best soda.
I’m sure I’m not being rude
But it’s just your attitude
