Today's song: Mighty, Mighty Man by Roy Brown

First we'll get this out of the way, this song always makes me think of Chris Peden.  His brash flaunting of youth in the face of his elders is in keeping with the tone of this song.  I look forward to the day that he comes to me complaining  about some young punk going on about how "young and strong" he is.  Long life is a curse the aged bestow on the young.

Now on to the part where i actually talk about the song so Cari doesn't have to complain to me on Monday.

As a result of playing Fallout and Bioshock i have developed a taste for Big Band and Swing style music.  Endless hours spent listening to songs my grandparents thought were the cat's meow will do that.

Mighty Man is played in Fallout 3 by the Wasteland's only DJ Three Dog.  After a while you get tired of Three Dog's incessant nattering but i never got tired of his selections. Another golden oldie wroth mentioning from Bioshock 2 is Henry Hall's Hush, Hush, Hush (Here Comes The Boogie Man).  You spend a few hours in a decaying Objectivist wasteland and a little cheery music is a nice change of pace.

There, Cari, now you know where this song originated and why it was selected for today.  For those of you who are not in my office, Cari was complaining that the post on Demetri Martin didn't talk about the song.  So today i went for something a little more straight forward.  After all i have to keep my fans happy.

Later

Bob
